Beppu Benten Pond is a spring with a mysterious beauty, with crystal clear blue water. This spring water is 14 degrees Celsius and is highly transparent, and has been selected as one of Japan's 100 famous waters.
Mine City Fossil Museum
Mine City is one of the top fossil producing areas in Japan. The Fossil Museum, located about a 5-minute walk from Mine Station, exhibits vertebrates, ammonites, and insects, which are likely to interest visitors among the various fossils that have been unearthed. The exhibits are designed to be viewed intuitively.
